I could open the inside door and watch the spider grab insects and repair her web. I don't want them ON me, but they're fascinating to watch. I noticed the zigzag pattern at the center of the web, and always just thought it was to strengthen and stabilize the center. Thanks for the interesting information!Bethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05149068921334726430noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1920285342579923379.post-8830592084771915542011-09-27T19:37:36.193-04:002011-09-27T19:37:36.193-04:00Thanks Cath.

The eggs hatch in the spring, and the spiderlings continue to mature throughout the year, with the females (the conspicous ones) reaching maturity in late summer. When immature, their coloration is more cryptic, and they are well camouflaged in their stabilimentum. I guess that's whey we don't notice them until later summer.Scott Namestnikhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04039569660182814907noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1920285342579923379.post-70214729318710609542011-09-27T18:53:24.192-04:002011-09-27T18:53:24.192-04:00Great photos!
