The scene looks like something one could find atop the higher peaks in the Southern Appalachians. Boreal forests are amazing beacons of rugged adaptability.
It's interesting... third one reminds me a bit of cloud forest in Costa Rica, except with conifers. The second one reminds me of the alpine in the Rockies. The first one reminds me of that time I went to Mars.
